Speaker Bios:

Christian Mueller

Prof. Dr. Christian Mueller is head of the Cardiovascular Research Institute at University Hospital Basel, Switzerland. He trains, supports, and supervises graduate and postgraduate students and
cardiovascular research groups and conducts high-quality clinical research with immediate impact on patient care. His areas of focus are cardiology, internal medicine, and intensive care
Medicine.

Mario Plebani

Prof. Mario Plebani is professor of clinical biochemistry and clinical molecular biology at the School of Medicine, University of Padova, and chief of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University-Hospital of Padova, Italy. He is also chief of the Center of Biomedical Research (a specialized center for quality in laboratory medicine for the Veneto region of Italy). His main areas of research are quality management in laboratory medicine, diagnostic and laboratory errors, biomarkers in cancer and cardiovascular diseases, and in vitro allergy diagnostics.

Speaker bios:

Ankur Srivastava

Dr. Ankur Srivastava, a hepatologist/gastroenterologist in the Department of Hepatology, South West Liver Unit, Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, UK. His areas of interest and expertise include the role of non-invasive tests for liver fibrosis, decompensated liver disease, acute liver failure, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and liver transplantation.

Elizabeth Powell

Dr. Elizabeth Powell is professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Queensland, Australia. Her area of focus is liver disease, including chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, fibrosis, and viral and metabolic liver disease.

Mustafa Serteser

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Serteser is professor of biochemistry at the School of Medicine, Acibadem University, and laboratory director at Acibadem Labmed Clinical Laboratories, both in Istanbul, Turkey. His areas of interest include antioxidants and oxidative stress and status, particularly in surgical patients.

Christian Albert

Dr. Christian Albert is an internist in the Department of Nephrology and Hypertension & Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases, University Clinic Magdeburg, Germany. His clinical research focuses on acute kidney injury.

Dr. Anne Marie Molloy

Dr. Anne Marie Molloy, School of Medicine/Biochemistry and Immunology, Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute, Trinity College, Dublin. Her research interests center on folate and vitamin B12, including genetics and folate, the role of folate and vitamin B12 in pregnancy, and the link between folate and B12 in relation to risk of chronic disease in the elderly.
