Researching with power

“The Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, Germany has been using two MAGNETOM Trio systems for several years - mainly for cognitive neuroscience research. "We are very satisfied with our current 3T MAGNETOM Trio systems,” says John-Dylan Haynes, PhD, from the Berlin Center for Advanced Neuroimaging at the Charité Universitätsmedizin. “They give us a good temporal stability, image quality and they also give us very good voxel independence. For the cognitive neuroscience applications it's a good system," he adds. MAGNETOM Trio, A Tim System, is the choice of the world’s largest and most active 3T MRI research community. It offers unmatched hardware performance and a richly advanced application portfolio.

The technology is in demand

In comparison, the University Medical Center Mannheim, Germany is using the MAGNETOM Skyra for high-quality vascular and abdominal clinical research. "Actually, no study really requires 3T, but if you want to have high quality studies and new insights, you need 3T,” explains Henrik J. Michaely, PhD, from the University Medical Center Mannheim. “For example, submillimeter isotropic imaging of any vascular system or high b-values in Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) to look for lymph nodes or prostate cancer can only be successfully done at 3T. And these are just two topics that you would better address using a 3T system such as the MAGNETOM Skyra," he points out. MAGNETOM Skyra serves the user with the 70-centimeter Open-Bore and combines highest image quality of the total imaging matrix in the fourth generation (Tim 4G) as well as standardization and research consistency of the day optimizing throughput (Dot) technology with maximal patient comfort. Now, it further offers the parallel transmit technology TimTX TrueShape2.
