Zaans Medical Center

As of May 1st, 2013, the Zaans Medical Center (ZMC) will have Siemens Healthcare as a technology partner. Siemens will supply and maintain all ZMC’s imaging equipment for radiology and nuclear medicine, keep it state-of-the-art, and train the hospital’s staff.

ZMC is currently building a new hospital which is planned to be completed in 2016 and will eventually accommodate a great deal of the new equipment: some 40 devices including a Magnetom Aera and Somatom Definition Edge. In addition Siemens will advise ZMC during the design phase on fitting out the new hospital and optimizing the work processes.

The collaboration agreement that ZMC and Siemens have signed will run until 1st January 2026. One of the reasons that ZMC decided in favour of Siemens as a technology partner was the leading and innovative position Siemens has in the field of medical engineering, especially medical imaging. Siemens’ early involvement in the construction process will help to optimize the logistics on the basis of lean principles and support cost effectiveness, which will ultimately benefit the hospital’s patients. By contracting with an external collaboration partner with extensive expert know-how, hospitals like Zaans Medical Center are able to achieve higher quality and productivity in their operations.

ZMC will always have the most modern equipment at hand for high-quality patient care.
